Da Bears

This will probably be one of only times that I write about football on this blog. I'm not that big of a football fan, more so because I don't understand the game. I didn't grow up in a family that watched football- well at least not American Football. Generally speaking I think that football is a horrible name for it- seeing that they don't use their feet too often. It should be called handball.

Moving on from that...I wanted to say WOOT WOOT to Da Bears and their win over the Packers last night. I was surprised at how into watching the game I was. 3-0 thus far- way to go Bears!

Custom Card # 1

DB Custom Creations has had it's first request for a custom card! It is for a 7 year old boy...I've never felt very comfortable making cards for young boys, I'm not too sure what is too young for them. Is this too young looking for a 7 year old?

This and more cards can be seen HERE

A Memo to Creepy Old Men

This is a public service announcement

What not to do if your a male over 65:

Men, if you are old and wrinkly, please understand that no matter how much money you have, most 20 yrs will not want to sleep with you.

If you are at your daughter's wedding, and your wife is there, don't dance with young women go dance with your wife.

Don't attempt to dance with strangers, or your daughter's friends- it's creepy.

Going around declaring in a question that you shouldn't cheat on your wife is unacceptable.

Confessing that you wish you were had not been born a rich white male will not score you extra points...you are creepy and old- that's all.

Warm Fuzzies and Pizza for Breakfast!

HAPPINESS

I will be leaving work at 2 and driving with my sister to Champaign for the weekend; it’ll be like I’m a college student all over again! We are going for a wedding.

Every time I go to a college town, I get so happy and sad at the same time. College was such a wonderful time for me, the college bubble of minimal responsibility, tons of free time, daily naps…ahh it was such a wonderful place. At times, I wish that I could just go back (then the whole being poor thing comes into play).

Sometimes I wish that I would have gone on to grad school right away, instead of being in such a rush to be a real adult…what was I thinking? I think its funny how people (well me) are always trying to get to the next level- or are thinking about what comes next. I am happy to say that at this point in my life, I’m happy living just where I am right now. Don’t get me wrong I’m looking to my future, I have goals, dreams, and plans for what my future will hold (what I want it to hold), but I can honestly say that I am so happy living in the right now! I want to enjoy my life now, and I’m just looking forward to what the future will bring to me.

I had an amazing night yesterday, and I will forever keep that in my heart. It warms me up just thinking about it- majority of the reason why I am so happy today. Lu is just an amazing person all around, and he makes me so happy. I haven’t felt so lovey dovey in years…it’s actually a very nice feeling.

I’m also happy that on Sunday, I get to visit my old stomping grounds…ISU here I come! Cheese balls at the PUB anyone?

Summer of the GROUPON

This summer, I discovered the GROUPON…what an amazing concept. Groupon has been around since 08, so sorry I am to have jumped on the bandwagon so late. Social coupons, if enough people buy the deal, then everyone gets the discount! Thanks to Andrew Mason and his brilliant self. Groupon was actually started in Chicago (yet another reason why Chicago is the Best City ever!) because Mr. Mason couldn’t figure out how he would be able to do all that he wanted to do in this amazing City without discounts.

GROUPON offers discounts a wide range of things, such as restaurants, salons, museums, sporting events…I love love love it! My first GROUPON purchase was rooftop tickets to the Cubs game…AMAZING!!! Since that day I have been hooked! So much in fact that I have subscribed to so many other social discount sites:

You Swoop
Local Ginger
Fly Coupon
Living Social
Deal a Day
3 O’clock Club
Crowd Click
Buy with Me

Every morning I look forward to seeing what fun deals I may be able to score. I’m almost obsessed with them, for awhile, I thought I was going to sign up for Groupon Anonymous…it is just so hard to resist!

CSO in the Park

On Sunday afternoon, I attended a free concert at Millennium Park of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. It was a beautiful concert; I was so impressed by all of the music. I couldn't believe how crowded the park was - hours before the show came on. I feel so blessed to live in Chicago, and be able to experience all that the City has to offer.

There are several free concerts that Millennium Park hosts throughout the year. I think that it so amazing that the City is able to do this!

I had a wonderful time with Lu, my sisters, and their friends...nothing better that an afternoon of listening to beautiful music, drinking wine, munching on cheese and crackers, and of course chocolate...oh wait...to top it off they ended the show with fireworks!!!

DB Custom Creations

I have finally come up with my greeting card company name! DB Custom Creations. I have been working on stock piling cards, I have made the cutest business cards (which I am super excited about), and I started by website here.

Vistaprint has been very helpful to me...I've changed my business cards twice and they have allowed me to cancel my order...thanks vistaprint!!!

Adler after Dark

Last night, Lu and I went to the Adler Planetarium for Adler after Dark. Every third Thursday of the month, they keep the Planetarium open (adults only) till 10PM. The have drinks (wine, beer, and one drink special), appetizers, and you are free to roam the museum. I haven't been to the Planetarium in such a long time; and really enjoyed the experience.

Highlights of the evening:

Being there with Lu...
Awesome exhibits
Best view of the City!
Great tasting wine
The fun toys at the gift shop!
Hummus and crackers along with chips and salsa.
It wasn't super crowded, you could see everything that you wanted to, and not be rushed.
DJ played some good tunes

I would recommend going, at least once. Tickets are $10 online, or $15 at the door. I throughly enjoyed the IMAX show - Journey to the Stars, it was amazing!

The Mary Kay of Dildos...placed on hold!

I have decided that I am going to go ahead an take a shot at selling sex toys; I think that it will be fun and exciting and at the same time a good way to get me out of my shell in some ways. Not that I think that I am a shy person, but that I will have to learn ways of gaining and maintaining clientele. I have never really had to do anything like this before and I strongly believe that it will be a great learning experience. I'm hoping that I'll be so good that I will get my own Cadi! Yes, selling sex toys you can get a company car as well!

On a sad note, one of my besties just shared some horrible news with me, her and the BF broke up because...he cheated on her. I feel horrible for her, and want to hurt her ex. I'm so fed up with hearing stories about cheating partners. Why is the norm at this point? Why is it so hard for people to be open and honest and loyal?

I'm trying to keep my faith, and not believe that all men are cheating bastards. I feel lucky (so far) that Lu has been nothing but kind, loving, and gentle towards me. I have no reason not to trust him, and truly believe that he is genuinely a wonderful person that would not do anything to intentionally hurt me. I have been so Happy and in relationship Bliss with him lately; I never want it to end.

Lady Gaga...a meat dress?

I don't normally talk about celebrities, because frankly I just don't care enough to. I can't believe that she wore a dress made of meat- that is so gross. I just don't get it at all- what is the attraction to raw meat...and her hair piece- so disgusting...I want to throw up...

I put my hands up in the air some times...

It's 4:22pm on Friday afternoon... I have four minutes to write this blog. I haven't spoken about politics in a really long time, but I just must say that Bill Brady shouldn't be voted into office...he wants to lower min. wage- WTFish Sticks...it's already not a livable wage and you want to lower it?

More to come...

Also WOO WHOOO it's the WEEKEND!!!

Future Passion Party Host?

I have once again placed myself on a semi strict budget, and now, I'm taking it further and attempting to find ways of earning extra cash. I'm tossing around the idea of being a Passion Party Consultant...aka selling some sex toys! The start up cost is manageable, and they do have some training I can take advantage of. I like sex, talking about it, so why wouldn't I want to sell products that enhance sex lives...it would be a public service really. Everyone should be able to experience great sex and express themselves sexually. i just wonder if I'm mature enough to talk about anal beads in front of a group of strangers.

I'm also thinking about selling some home maid greeting cards. I love making cards, so this would be a fun way for me to earn some extra cash, while actually enjoying myself. I'm trying to make several different types of cards at the moment. My thought is to go to some small business and see if they would allow me to use their space and I would give them a cut of the sales (thanks to Lu for the idea). I've posted some of my cards on here in the past, and I will continue to post them...if anyone is interested in purchasing a card don't be shy!

I'm charging $3.00 for each of them; if any of them interest you, please let me know.

Bad Service Gets you Zero!

I walked into a local scrapbook store this AM called Memories & Beyond and I was astonished at the horribly unfriendly service that I received. It was recently bought out by new owners, you would think that they would be super ambitious in selling their products. Everyone should know that a simple hello is a must to a customer walking in the door. I walk in, 4 ladies standing around, all look up at me, but none mutter hello. I was in the store for 10 min and not one person even said hello to me. It's sad, since the store has absolutely amazing products. I could of spent 100s of dollars, but refused to buy anything because I was so put off by their lack of customer service. If they are so unwilling to even acknowledge my existence, why should I help keep them in business.

Moral of the story...good customer service goes a long way!

Quickly Approaching 28

One month from today I will be 28 years young! I thought that I would share some random knowledge that I obtained today:

Garlic is not only for eating, but is also one of nature's best cures...for something that I would have never guessed!

When your debit card expires, make sure to notify IPASS with in 7 days, or else you will be charged outrageous amounts of money (even if you only go through 3 tolls).

An average American family throws out about $600 worth of food a year - wow!

Chicago is the coolest City ever (I already knew that!) and has a Jazz Bus Tour, which is going on has I type. Takes you by bus to lots of different Jazz clubs in the City all for only $30...hope to be on that bus next year!

A paramedic needs to call the hospital and go over the facts of the patients medical condition, before transporting them to the hospital...it's called medical control.

There is such a thing as glitter chocolate that is edible...freakin awesome!

I wonder what tomorrow will bring!
